[Rome, Kyodo] The Italian Ministry of Culture and other organizations announced on the 25th that, as a measure against the intense heat, they will experimentally open the Colosseum, a famous Roman amphitheater, and the Pantheon, an ancient ruin, until late at night during August this year. The Colosseum will be open until 7:45 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays in addition to its regular opening hours.

The Italian Ministries of Culture and Tourism are extending the opening hours of key monuments. The Colosseum and Pantheon in Rome, and Sforza Castle in Milan, will be open until late in the evening throughout August. This is a nod to tourists who want to avoid the heat and discover history in a unique atmosphere.
