Fincantieri Celebrates Delivery of Third Explora Luxury Travel Vessel

- On Friday, July 24, 2026, Explora Journeys took delivery of its third luxury cruise ship, EXPLORA III, at Fincantieri's Sestri Ponente shipyard in Genoa, Italy, marking the halfway milestone for the six-ship fleet.
- The vessel represents the next phase of MSC Group's investment of more than €3.5 billion in its fleet, built through a long-standing partnership with Fincantieri focused on maritime craftsmanship and innovation.
- As the first LNG-powered vessel in the fleet, EXPLORA III measures 268 metres with 463 suites and features enhanced culinary concepts including The Cellar, The Chef's Table and Shore Club, earning the "Green Plus" notation for environmental performance.
- Following delivery, the ship departs Genoa today for a five-night Mediterranean Prelude Journey, with an official naming ceremony scheduled for August 1, 2026, in Barcelona and a maiden voyage to Lisbon departing August 3.
- Three remaining vessels—Explora IV, Explora V, and Explora VI—will join the fleet by 2028, incorporating advanced fuel cell technology to support the industry's pathway toward net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
