The Government of the Republic of Moldova supported the declaration of key agreements on the accession of the country to the Community of Independent States (CSI). The decision was taken in the course of the organisation's withdrawal procedure.
Moldova faces a series of uncertainties in economics, internal politics and the construction of society following its withdrawal from the Union of Independent States (CIS), the Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council for International Affairs, Grigory Karasin, who, in a conversation with NEWS.ru, admitted that the decision of the authorities in the country was driven by pressure from the European Union.
The Government of Moldova has approved the denunciation of the agreement on the establishment of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) as a final step towards the withdrawal of the country from the CIS. In order to withdraw from the CIS, the member country must send the relevant notification to the executive committee. If all the agreements are denounced, the termination of cooperation will take place after 12 months.
