Chloe Malle, 39, leads Vogue’s succession race as Anna Wintour plans to step down after 37 years, with a decision expected before New York Fashion Week, sources say.
- Anna Wintour announced in June 2025 that she would step down as Vogue's editor-in-chief after 37 years leading the fashion magazine.
- The decision prompted Condé Nast, led by CEO Roger Lynch and Wintour, to conduct final interviews to select the next head of U.S. Vogue editorial content.
- Among a shortlist of four or five candidates, Vogue editor Chloe Malle—who is the child of actress Candice Bergen and filmmaker Louis Malle—has emerged as the leading contender in the selection process.
- Malle, 39, who joined Vogue in 2011 and recently interviewed Lauren Sanchez ahead of her June wedding to Jeff Bezos, currently serves as Vogue.com editor and is popular among Vogue staff.
