In the village of Berg in Tongeren, archaeologists are searching for the legendary Gallic settlement of Ambiorix and the winter camp of the Roman Emperor Julius Caesar. The excavations started today in the presence of Flemish Minister of Immovable Heritage Ben Weyts (N-VA). The archaeologists also hope to find the battlefield where Ambiorix defeated one and a half Roman legions.
