Ex-Raptors Exec Masai Ujiri Remains Focused on Humanitarian with Giants of Africa Festival
KIGALI, RWANDA, JUL 18 – The festival expands to 320 participants from 20 countries, combining basketball clinics and mentorship to empower African youth, Ujiri said.
- On July 26, the second edition of Giants of Africa Festival returns to Kigali, Rwanda, featuring Ayra Starr and Candace Parker.
- Masai Ujiri, after 13 seasons with the Toronto Raptors, pledged that his humanitarian work, including Giants of Africa, will continue regardless of his employment status.
- Since 2003, Giants of Africa has reached thousands of campers across 18 countries and helped build more than three dozen courts.
- With Africa's median age at 20 and one-quarter of the global population by 2050, Ujiri said `The hope is that this experience here will even make them reimagine many of the things that they want to do`.
