Kiwi Ex-NRL Player Found Not Guilty in Rape Trial Admits Different Sexual Offence

Teui 'TC' Robati was found not guilty of two rape charges by a jury in Brisbane after deliberating for more than seven hours in the Brisbane District Court.
Following the trial, Robati admitted to unlawfully and indecently assaulting a different woman, for which he was sentenced to two years of probation under strict conditions.
The jury heard that Robati had allegedly lured a woman into a pub toilet, with Crown prosecutor Isabelle MacNicol stating he put his arms around her neck and kissed her, despite her protests.
Defence barrister David Funch claimed Robati believed the act was consensual, arguing that poor behavior does not equate to being a rapist.
