2027: Former Delta Speaker Ochei Resigns From APC
He says the move follows deep reflection and consultations as he seeks broader growth and a new political path.
Victor Ochei, former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress in a letter to party leadership on Thursday.
Having joined the APC in 2016, Ochei devoted himself to building and strengthening the party at all levels. He nurtured relationships and encouraged participation among youth and women across communities.
Ochei stated his resignation is not borne out of "bitterness, resentment or hostility towards anyone." Instead, he said the decision stems from his commitment to service and the political future he envisions.
Urging supporters to remain peaceful and focused, Ochei expressed gratitude to loyal party members who stood with him. He has not yet disclosed which political party he plans to join.
Emphasizing the need for inclusion, Ochei noted that leadership must continually evolve to reflect fairness and mutual respect. He stressed that growth remains a constant necessity in every political institution.
