- Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mikhail Grabovski has been charged with assault following an incident at Markham Village Community Centre on March 14. York Regional Police arrested the 42-year-old after an altercation at the minor hockey venue in Markham, Ont.
- The charge stems from a playoff game where the Markham Waxers lost 11-0 to the York-Simcoe Express. Following the match, the Waxers coach allegedly attacked the opposing coach, Warren Cooper, who was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
- During the match, referees handed out a 10-minute misconduct to the Waxers for "disrespectful and abusive behaviour" and assessed 61 minutes in penalties overall. The Ontario Minor Hockey Association suspended Grabovski pending the police investigation.
