Ex-girlfriend remanded for murder of Amar Jones

Shania Benjamin, the 24-year-old ex-girlfriend of Amar Jones has been charged and remanded to prison in connection with his murder. Benjamin, a clerk of Central Amelia’s Ward, made her appearance at the Linden Magistrate’s Court via Zoom before Magistrate Rushelle Liverpool on Tuesday.  She was not required to plead to the charge and was remanded to prison until February, 16, 2026.
