On Sept. 11, 2001, roughly 40 planes carrying more than 7,000 passengers were diverted to Halifax Stanfield International Airport. Retired air traffic controller Blair Miller and training instructor Wayne d'Entremont recall what it was like on the ground during an unprecedented day.
