Fuel prices have risen by an average of one złoty per liter. This is a result of the end of the government's two-week CPN program. Long lines of cars formed at many stations on Monday, with arguments between drivers and even physical altercations. Some stations ran out of fuel.
From September 1, drivers have to prepare for much higher expenses at gas stations. After the end of the government's “Lower Fuel Prices” program, prices increased in places by more than one zloty per liter. According to RMF24, 95 gasoline already costs more than PLN 7, and diesel more than PLN 8 per liter.
Drivers arriving at a gas station on September 1st saw completely different prices on the pylons than the day before. The temporary government mechanism that had limited the cost of refueling during the second half of August had ended. After a tense evening on August 31st and massive bottlenecks at the pumps, fuel prices rose by over 1 złoty per liter on September 1st. This was due to the end of protective programs, the return of a higher VAT rate, and the expiration of summer discounts. Data collected in the fuel section of the gorzowianin.com portal shows that diesel fuel has reached 8.39 złoty, while a liter of 95-octane gasoline can cost as much as 7.66 złoty.
