Evanescence Announce 20th Anniversary Edition of The Open Door
The expanded set adds remastered audio, seven colored vinyl variants and three rarities plus a never-before-released demo.
- Craft Recordings announced a 20th-anniversary deluxe edition of Evanescence's second studio album, The Open Door, arriving November 6 on 2-LP, CD, and digital formats.
- Released in 2006, the album marked a creative turning point for the band. Frontwoman Amy Lee took greater control, expanding the group's musical vocabulary through sweeping orchestration and piano-rich compositions.
- The original release sold more than 447,000 copies in its first week, topping charts globally. Following a recent TikTok resurgence for the track "Sweet Sacrifice," the reissue adds three fan-favorite rarities and a "Good Enough" demo.
- This anniversary release arrives during a busy period for the band following the June 2026 launch of their sixth studio album, Sanctuary. Evanescence continues an extensive world tour with dates across North America and Europe.
- Upcoming shows in Asia and a run through Australia and New Zealand in early 2027 extend the band's tour cycle. Frontwoman Lee said the album's resonance "means so much to me" after 20 years.
