Evacuations lifted in Spallumcheen as Bradley Creek wildfire progress achieved
Wildfire crews reduced the order area as 355 properties stayed under evacuation order and 387 remained on alert, officials said.
On Monday, the Township of Spallumcheen lifted and shifted evacuation orders as firefighters made progress on the Bradley Creek wildfire, shrinking the evacuation order area considerably.
Highway 97 remains closed to traffic, and the Township advises residents to avoid evacuation order areas due to persistent hazards including downed power lines and unstable trees.
In Spallumcheen, 355 properties remain on evacuation order while 387 properties are currently on evacuation alert status following the amended orders.
The reception centre at Hassan Arena reopens on Tuesday, Aug 4 at 9 a.m., with residents able to access Support Services online or contact the Evacuee Helpline.
Unobstructed access for fire crews remains critical for managing the Bradley Creek blaze; the Township of Spallumcheen requests the public not impede emergency equipment movement.
