European tourism closes 2024 strongly, driven by demand in medium season

In the last quarter of 2024, European tourism has shown strong resilience despite economic pressures, geopolitical uncertainties, adverse weather conditions and the evolution of consumer behaviour. The latest report of the European Tourism Commission (ETC) shows an increase of 6.3% in foreign arrivals compared to 2019 levels and an increase of 6.7% compared to 2023. Overnight stays have also grown by 5.9% compared to 2019 and 4.8% year-on-year.
