Nordic, Baltic Leaders Arrive in Kyiv on Eve of Independence Day
The leaders will hold bilateral talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky and join NB8 and Coalition of the Willing meetings on support for Ukraine.
Leaders from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Norway arrived in Kyiv on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, to participate in Flag Day and Independence Day commemorations and high-level diplomatic meetings.
Visiting officials will participate in the Nordic-Baltic Eight summit and attend Monday's meeting of the Coalition of the Willing to coordinate international support for Ukraine.
Russian missile strikes targeted Ukraine's railway network on Sunday, hitting a train in Kharkiv and killing one person, while Ukrainian forces retaliated by striking Ozon logistics hubs in Orenburg and Samara.
