The European Commission has launched an investigation against TikTok on the basis of Digital Services Act (DSA). The platform risks fines of up to 6% of global turnover, Thomas Regnier, European Commission spokesman, said in Brussels on Thursday.
The European Commission's investigation into TikTok, opened after the first round of the Romanian presidential elections in November 2024, is still underway, and a conclusion could be published only at the beginning of 2027. If the Commission finds violations of the Digital Services Act (DSA), TikTok risks a fine of up to 6% of global turnover.
