At the Euro-Leu course, any threshold exceeded has so far become the new minimum level. The CFA Romania leadership, the investment professionals' organisation, does not expect this rule to change: at the end of 2027 they estimate that a euro would cost between 5,40 and 5,50 lei, with the risk inclined towards more.
According to economic analysts, further weakening is likely due to the large budget deficit, high inflation, and lack of reforms.
Euro has gone down for months, even though Romania has kept its country rating. Analysts warn that the pressures on the lion could continue and estimate that, at the end of next year, the euro could reach even 5 lei and 50 money.
