Russia must provide humanitarian aid to the suffering people in the occupied Ukrainian town of Oleshky, European Commissioner Hadja Lahbib said, describing the situation in the town, where Ukrainian officials say nearly 2,000 people are being held hostage without food or medicine, as terrifying.
The EU described the situation in Oleshki, Kherson, as "appalling" and called for humanitarian aid to be allowed in. EU Commissioner Hadja Lahbib stressed that civilians under the Russian siege were deprived of food, medicine, water, and healthcare, and that safe access was necessary.
Commissioner Aja Labib called on Russia to immediately provide humanitarian aid to Olesk, Ukraine, where citizens are living in terrible conditions without basic goods, stressing that this is Russia's international obligation.
