The European Union’s Entry/Exit System (EES) has recorded more than 27,000 refusals of entry at external Schengen borders during its early rollout phase, according to figures attributed to the European Commission and reported through aggregated operational data shared with member states. The European Union last week introduced a digital border system (EES), causing confusion at airports across the bloc. Travelers from outside the EU must register their biometric data, including facial scans and fingerprints, when entering the Schengen area.
The new European system of entry-out (EES-bottened) is now fully operational in all border points in the Schengen area, including in Romania. All non-EU citizens are photographed and printed on the first entry, an operation that lasts at least one minute for each person and has already caused delays and considerable cuts in airports. [...]
