- Brussels and Washington struck a trade deal last year imposing 15 percent levies on most European exports to the United States while guaranteeing zero tariffs for American industrial goods entering the 27-nation bloc.
- The proposed list covers exports worth approximately $131 billion and includes wine, spirits, beer, medical devices, and cheeses such as Roquefort and Pecorino, according to EU trade spokesman Olof Gill.
- "We really want to look at as many areas as possible where we can reduce or eliminate tariffs," Gill said, emphasizing benefits for exporters and consumers on both sides.
- The European Union implemented the original pact last July following delays fueled by President Trump's threats to Greenland and a Supreme Court decision.
