One day after the meeting in Alaska between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin at the first direct contact between them to discuss the end of the war in Ukraine, and the possible Russian demand for the withdrawal of international sanctions against Moscow, the European Executive has reiterated that it will follow its line and maintain restrictions to apply all possible pressure to the Kremlin.
Brussels is currently working on a new sanctions package against Russia. Details have not yet been announced.
