On Thursday, October 8, 2026, the European Parliament adopted a resolution calling for an EU strategy against “Islamist entryism” and Muslim Brotherhood networks.
With the exception of the left groups, virtually all Members voted in favour of stricter measures against the Islamist infiltration of state institutions.
This week, the European Parliament adopted a new strategy to combat Islamist infiltration of Western societies. One would think this was something the Social Democrats could support. But they abstained because of a perceived lack of documentation of the problem. The strange thing is that the three Social Democratic MEPs could have received assistance from their own party if they had any doubts about the existence of the problem.
