Published in the Official Journal of the EU on July 24, the regulation enters into force twenty days after publication, as provided for by the European legislative procedure, and replaces the two directives that so far regulated the matter, dating back to 2000 and 2005.
The new rules for end-of-life vehicles, which come into force this Thursday, reinforce recycling, tighten control over exports and impose new obligations on manufacturers.
The European Commission has announced the new rules on the design, production, collection and treatment of end-of-life vehicles, in order to strengthen the circulation in the motor vehicle sector and to support Europe's strategic autonomy, comes into force on 13 August, says the Communication of the Community Executive.
