EU gives Moldova €30mn as short-term fix to energy crisis and promises longer-term plan

Lithuania will supply nine 16-kilowatt power generators to Moldova, which is experiencing an energy crisis. This decision was made by the government on Wednesday.

The European Commission has released emergency aid of 30 million euros allowing Moldavia to buy gas to supply the separatist region, which has been plunged into the middle of an energy crisis since Gazprom stopped deliveries on 1 January.
