Kallas Visit Puts Ireland’s Alumina Exports to Russia Under EU Spotlight

Kallas will raise concerns over alumina shipments after an Irish investigation linked the plant to Russian arms makers, officials said.

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas is in Dublin for talks with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, placing Ireland at the centre of a sharpening European dispute over whether alumina exported from an Irish refinery to Russia is helping to sustain Moscow’s war machine in Ukraine.
