Brussels has extended the sanctions against 23 people and five entities involved in destabilising, submining or threatening activities against Chisinau. Among those targeted are the fugitive oligarch Şor, several of its members, as well as the Plahotniuc oligarch.
The Council of the European Union decided to extend until April 2027 the restrictive measures applied against 23 persons and five entities considered responsible for actions aimed at destabilising, undermining or threatening the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Moldova.
The Council of the European Union today decided to extend until 29 April 2027 the restrictive measures adopted against persons and entities involved in actions aimed at destabilising, undermining or threatening the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Moldova. Currently, the EU sanctions regime applies for 23 persons and 5 entities.
