The U.S. health program Medicare said Tuesday that the new prices negotiated for 15 of its most expensive drugs will save 36% on those drugs compared to recent annual spending, that is, about $8.5 billion in net prescription costs covered. Prices will come into effect in 2027, including a monthly price of $274 for Novo Nordisk’s popular GLP-1 semaglutide drug, sold as Wegovy for weight loss and Ozempic for diabetes.
