EU High Representative Kallas called on Israel and Iran to end their war. Deescalation of the situation was urgently needed, said Kallas after a video conference with EU foreign ministers. She also stressed that it was agreed that Iran should not develop nuclear weapons.
The European Union has called for an “urgent deescalation” of the new confrontation between Israel and Iran and has advocated for a diplomatic solution as the only way out of the most recent and dangerous hotbed of conflict in the Middle East. A road in which the Twenty-Seven consider that they have a role to play, especially now that the negotiations between Washington and Tehran on the Iranian nuclear programme are “stacked”.
