Ethics Committee Announces Probe Into Lance Gooden

- Gooden called the inquiry "bogus spending allegations perpetrated by dishonest unelected OCC bureaucrats" in a statement to The Texas Tribune, saying he is confident the committee will confirm their baseless nature.
- Several other members of the Texas delegation, including Reps. Wesley Hunt, R-Houston, Ronny Jackson, R-Amarillo, and Troy Nehls, R-Richmond, previously faced committee investigations over potential campaign finance violations.
- While Hunt and Jackson were cleared, the committee has not made findings public in the Nehls case. The committee said it will announce its course of action by Nov. 9.
