GUATEMALA CITY (AP) — In an unprecedented incident in Guatemala, a teacher has died from injuries sustained in a knife attack by an 11-year-old student in the department of Huehuetenango, on the border with Mexico.
A tragedy occurred in a school, when an 11-year-old student stabbed her teacher inside a classroom. The teacher was wounded at least seven times and, although he was rushed to a hospital, died hours later due to the severity of the injuries. The attack occurred on the morning of Wednesday, July 23, while teacher Pedro Enrique Herrera Tello, 72, taught at the Official Rural School of Cambote, located in Huehuetenango, Guatemala.
