Ten Hag Back to His Roots From Next Season
- On Feb. 1, former Ajax, Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen manager Erik ten Hag joins FC Twente as technical director and begins in February.
- After months of contact, Twente general manager Dominique Scholten said Ten Hag's bond with FC Twente made him an excellent candidate and revealed his ambition to further develop the club.
- A former Ajax, Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen manager, Ten Hag was sacked by Manchester United in 2024 and dismissed by Leverkusen after three games in September 2025.
- He has signed a deal running through to the summer of 2028 and will take over the role from Jan Streuer, who is set to retire next season.
- His background in youth and academy work makes Ten Hag suited to shape FC Twente's academy and structure, and he said, 'I think it's wonderful and special to return to FC Twente, where I've been a supporter at Het Diekman since I was a young boy.
