After retiring in today's first stage, the 44-year-old driver lost a real chance to defend his Czech championship lead.

Czech driver Adam Březík (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2) leads the 55th Barum Czech Rally Zlín after Saturday, which is the sixth event of the Czech Championship and the fifth competition of the European Championship. Jan Kopecký (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2) did not finish the Saturday stages due to damaged brakes and a flat tire, reducing the chances of Filip Mareš (Toyota GR Yaris Rally2).
