Tour De France Favourite Vollering to Undergo Concussion Test Ahead of Stage 4
ÎLE-DE-FRANCE, FRANCE, JUL 28 – Demi Vollering suffered multiple contusions but no concussion risk after a crash in stage 3 and is cleared to continue the women's Tour de France, FDJ-SUEZ said.
- On Jul 29, 2025, FDJ-SUEZ confirmed Demi Vollering will continue racing after a crash left her bruised, and tests excluded concussion risk.
- The crash occurred within 5km of the finish on stage three as Vollering exited a bridge near Angers, FDJ-SUEZ said.
- Holding an 18 point lead, Demi Vollering will start Tuesday’s 130.7km stage in the green jersey, determined to take the start after tests ruled out concussion risk.
- Further examinations, including a second concussion protocol, her FDJ-SUEZ team said, will be carried out Tuesday morning to confirm Vollering's fitness for stage four.
- On Thursday, the women’s Tour de France will face its first mountain test in stage six in the Massif Central, as Griffin, Mangan and Gillespie are the first Irish women to ride over nine stages this year.
