EPCOR DELIVERS WATER SOLUTION FOR RIO VERDE FOOTHILLS, FACILITY OPENS JANUARY 1, 2026

On Jan. 1, 2026, EPCOR Utilities will open its permanent water filling station for Rio Verde Foothills, with daily hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., completing the standpipe and infrastructure.
After the 2023 supply interruption, the Federal Bureau of Reclamation prompted EPCOR USA into drought management, creating a need for a new water solution for Rio Verde Foothills.
EPCOR built and connected the standpipe, one-mile pipeline, and infrastructure on an accelerated timeline with Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, Arizona Legislature, Arizona Corporation Commission, and City of Scottsdale; Shawn Bradford said `Promise made, promise kept`.
At the new 176th Street site, account holders will access the standpipe daily from 7 am to 6 pm beginning Jan. 1, 2023, and EPCOR will continue supplying water through its existing portfolio since January 2023.
The permanent station replaces the 2023 temporary setup, which will sunset at midnight Dec. 31, 2025 when the Rio Verde Foothills Standpipe District ends after months of shortages that drew international headlines and prompted legislative action.
