Envision Energy Partners with REE Group to Deliver Southeast Asia's Largest Single-Turbine Nearshore Wind Projects
The 128MW nearshore wind project in Vietnam will use sixteen 8.XMW turbines, marking the largest single-turbine capacity and supporting the country's net-zero goals.
- On Jan. 29, 2026, Envision Energy signed a turbine supply contract with REE Group for 128MW nearshore projects in Vinh Long Province, covering V1-3 Phase II 48 MW and V1-5&6 Phase II 80MW.
- As approved under PDP VIII, the projects adopt large-rotor, high-capacity offshore turbines to support Vietnam's net-zero ambitions and address low-wind-speed region needs.
- The projects will deploy sixteen EN-226/8.XMW turbines, which have secured over 2.5GW in orders since 2022 and offer the largest nearshore capacity in Southeast Asia.
- Both projects will start construction simultaneously at sites with average wind speeds exceeding 7 meters per second, with full grid connection expected by October 2026 and Envision working with local tower suppliers.
- Envision said it will position the projects as a regional benchmark and provide replicable technical references to accelerate nearshore and far-offshore wind in Southeast Asia.
