The United Nations Conference on the Oceans (Unoc-3) concludes this Friday in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes). NGOs welcome real progress, such as the ratification of the Treaty on the High Seas, but denounce the weakness of France's announcements on its own marine protected areas.

Many countries made commitments on the protection of the ocean at this United Nations conference, but these advances still need to be translated into action at future meetings.
