SIR Enumeration Phase Begins in Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim and Manipur
Booth-level officers will visit homes and collect forms from more than 3.67 crore electors in the four states, the commission said.
- On Saturday, the Election Commission began the enumeration phase of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Manipur, with Booth Level Officers conducting house-to-house visits to distribute, collect, and verify forms.
- This initiative is part of the Commission's third phase of the Special Intensive Revision, launched in 16 States and three Union Territories on May 14 to include eligible citizens while preventing ineligible entries.
- The four States account for more than 3.67 crore electors, supported by 38,123 Booth Level Officers and 8,391 Booth Level Agents who carry at least 30 blank Form 6 documents for new applicants.
- Eligible citizens must submit enumeration forms to the Electoral Registration Officer by June 28 to appear in the Draft Electoral Rolls, which the Commission will publish on July 5.
- Following the claims and objections period extending to August 4, the Election Commission will finalize the process by publishing the final electoral rolls on September 6.
