The power company disconnected the second Temelín unit due to a malfunction on Wednesday. The reason was a malfunction in the control system of the non-nuclear part of the technology. After inspections, technicians expect the unit to start generating electricity again on Thursday, Temelín Nuclear Power Plant spokesman Marek Sviták told reporters on Wednesday.
The failure did not affect the nuclear part of the power plant, but the control system in non-nuclear technology. Czech energy officials expect the unit to return to operation after the inspections are completed.
