Germany's energy consumption rose by 2.3 percent in the first half of 2025, the AGEB statistics group said on Tuesday, citing cooler weather and a slight improvement in the economic situation as the main drivers of the growth.
The CO2 emissions from road transport have stagnated in Germany since 2020, while energy generation has achieved decarbonisation by 52 percent since 2010.


Energy-related CO2 emissions from economic sectors and private households have fallen by 29.6% since 2010 (2023: 543.0 million tonnes compared to 2010: 770.9 million tonnes).
