Energy poverty emerges as one of the main dimensions of economic precariousness in the 20th edition of the Barometer on poverty and economic precariousness, carried out by the ‘Secours Populaire Fransà ̈, which devoted a specific chapter to the impact of energy and fuel expenditure.
In order to reduce energy bills, 68% of Europeans say they have taken at least one measure in the last year and 53% say they have resorted to various strategies.
Eight out of ten Portuguese are concerned about energy prices and 77% are afraid of fuel costs, a concern that makes more than one third of Europeans abdicate major costs in order to pay for energy and transport.
