Domino’s Adds Rectangular Personal Pizza
The new two-slice pizza lets customers choose up to three toppings and will be sold as a standalone item or in Domino’s Mix-and-Match deal.
- Domino's will launch "The Domino," a rectangular, Detroit-style personal pizza, nationwide on August 31, filling a strategic gap in the company's menu portfolio.
- Joe Jordan, Domino's chief operating officer and president of Domino's U.S. and incoming CEO, said "The Domino fills a gap in our portfolio" in a press release addressing unmet demand for customizable options.
- Featuring a crispy Parmesan, Detroit-style crust, the pizza is shaped like a domino and cut into two slices, with customers able to add up to three toppings for one person.
- Customers can purchase the new item for $7.99 standalone or via the Mix-and-Match menu at $6.99 each when ordering two or more items.
- Outgoing CEO Russell Weiner stated the launch serves a strategic function similar to Stuffed Crust, positioning the product to "address an unmet consumer need" against competitors Pizza Hut and Papa Johns.
