Escaped emu lead police on hours-long chase, captured safely
An escaped emu kept Maryland State Police busy on the Salisbury Bypass Saturday.Around 10:50 a.m., police got a call for an emu in the road way near the Ocean City exit.Troopers were able to catch the emu with a dog leash at around 2 p.m. in the area of Pheasant Drive. The emu was returned to its owners an hour later.The emu was struck by a car around 1:30 p.m., but was not injured.
