Kazlų Rūda municipality has declared an emergency situation due to the effects of the storm on Monday. The mayor of the municipality, Mantas Varaška, says that power supply has still not been restored to approximately 1.2 thousand consumers. This, according to him, means that about 3-4 thousand residents may be left without power.
The unfolding disaster has left chaos in the Kazlų Rūda municipality: thousands of residents are spending days without electricity and drinking water. "The situation is bad, like everywhere else. The latest figures from ESO are as follows: the electricity supply of another 1,200 consumers has not been restored. If we multiply the consumer by 2.5, this means that we get the same number of people for each residential address. That means 3-4 thousand people still do not have electricity," M. Varaška told Elta.
