- On July 16, 2025, Oracle co-founder and chief technology officer Larry Ellison surpassed Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, reaching a net worth of US$251.2 billion.
- Following ChatGPT’s launch, shares have surged 90% since April, while Oracle’s stock jumped 5.7% on July 15 when US easing of semiconductor export rules, Bloomberg reported.
- Yesterday Oracle announced a $3 billion investment in Germany and the Netherlands, and secured tens of billions in cloud and data centre deals with OpenAI.
- Following Ellison’s leap, he overtook Zuckerberg to become the second-richest person on the Bloomberg index, while Elon Musk remains top with US$357.8 billion.
