Ellis Park: 5-year-old is euthanized; Hazlewood is OK after fall

Nyquist Frequency, a 5-year-old gelding who was a two-time winner this year, suffered what proved to be a fatal injury in the seventh race Saturday at Ellis Park. His jockey, Yedsit Hazlewood, was not seriously hurt. “A right-front injury was evaluated,” track spokesperson Kevin Kerstein wrote in a text message to Horse Racing Nation. “Due to the extent of the injury, humane euthanasia was elected.” Click here for Ellis Park entries and results.…
