At the end of a government meeting, Ilie Bolojan announced on Thursday, 14 May, that the SAFE programme had been completed and that by the end of the month Romania would sign the EUR 16.5 billion loan agreement with the EU. The interim Prime Minister explained that investment projects would take place from the second half of the year, so that, by 2030, "we can close this important programme for the defence of Romania".
The Romanian Government has announced the completion of the procedural stages for the SAFE (Action for Security of Europe) programme, which allows the signing of the loan agreement with the European Union until the end of the current month.
