WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A fire at the College Road Early Childhood Center in Monkey Junction Thursday evening prompted officials to cancel school Friday as they assess the building. The alarm came in at 8:15 p.m. and was upgraded to a structure fire due to haze in the building, according to New Hanover County Fire Rescue (NHCFR).
