Election 2026: Incumbents Davis, Edwards shift to toss-up in Sabato’s
Incumbent U.S. Representatives Don Davis and Chuck Edwards have had their 2026 election races reclassified as toss-ups from leans Republican by Sabato’s Crystal Ball at the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics.
Sabato’s Crystal Ball, led by Larry Sabato, Kyle Kondik, and Miles Coleman, examines all national election races including president, Senate, House, and governors.
Don Davis, a Democrat representing the 1st Congressional District, is challenged by Republican Laurie Buckhout, while Chuck Edwards, a Republican in the 11th District, is challenged by Democrat Jamie Ager.
Sabato’s reports that the toss-up rating may be generous due to a Libertarian candidate potentially hurting Republicans; Jamie Ager has raised over $3 million with $2.1 million cash on hand as of June 30.
