46-Year-Old Son Wanted in Deaths of Elderly Parents in Mississauga Home
Police say the couple’s 46-year-old son is wanted and considered armed and dangerous as investigators gather video from the scene.
On Thursday, an elderly couple died after an assault at their Mississauga home near Lakeshore Road East and Hurontario Street, with officers responding at 7:07 p.m. to a disturbance call.
Peel Regional Police identified the couple's 46-year-old son, Jordan Sangwin, as the suspect in the homicide; investigators believe Sangwin did not reside at the home where the assault occurred.
Insp. Mike Mavity stated Sangwin is "considered armed and dangerous" and fled before police arrived, though investigators do not believe a firearm was used in the assault.
Mavity urged the suspect to "contact a lawyer and turn himself in," while police stated there is no immediate risk to public safety despite the active manhunt.
The Peel homicide unit is gathering video evidence from the scene as the couple's deaths mark the 10th and 11th homicide victims in the region for 2026.
